One of the earliest tips on writing I learned was what film-makers have been doing for a long time: Keeping deleted scenes. You may decide to cut a scene from your writing because it just don’t fit into that particular piece of work, but it may well do so in a future book or story. Save these scenes, keep them in a file, and go back to them. With some adjustment they could be just what you need when you’re looking for inspiration with a new project.
